The RoboShow Dancer is a robotic dance partner with an onboard DVD player. This instructive simulator is based on a type of virtual reality system that enables a user to learn basic beginning dance steps in the privacy of their own home without the need of a human partner. Acting as an interface between a user and the RoboShow Dancer, one can synchronize their steps using motion, visual and audio dynamics to teach and prepare anyone for social acceptance in the world of dancing. RoboShow Dancer Proper Dance Positioning:

1. The Man:

A. Now in the event the man is dancing with a woman, he would place his right hand beneath the woman's left shoulder blade with his arm held at a 90 degree angle to his body. For instance, facing the RoboShow Dancer, (like a female partner), the man should place his right hand on the stationary rubber ball on the side of the RoboShow Dancer.

B. The man's left hand should take hold of the rubber ball on the flexible right arm of the RoboShow Dancer as he would with a female partner, raising it to his partner's eye level. This distinguishes the proper dance position for the man.

2. The Woman:

A. The woman should rest her left hand comfortably on the RoboShow Dancer's right shoulder like she would the man's right shoulder. She would place her hand on the area distinguished by a shoulder pad on the RoboShow Dancer and provide pressure with her fingers and thumb to "follow" the man's lead or direct the RoboShow Dancer.

B. The woman's right hand should take hold of the rubber ball on the flexible left arm of the RoboShow Dancer as she would with a male partner, and raise it to her eye level. The woman should look over her partner's right shoulder for better balance, this gives a poised and elegant dance position. This distinguishes the proper dance position for the woman.

MORE IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Whether you are dancing with your RoboShow Dancer or a human partner, the following rules apply.

1. Where to dance:

You should always dance with your RoboShow Dancer in an area with adequate room on a hard solid floor such as linoleum, wood, concrete, tile, etc. (Do not use on carpet or anywhere that it doesn't move freely).

2. What to wear:

Wear clothes that are comfortable to give you the freedom to move without constriction.

3. What about shoes?

Men: Do not wear rubber-soled shoes. They don't offer the proper traction. A loafer-type is good, or any shoe with a smooth sole.

Women: A shoe with a heel is attractive, but certainly isn't a necessity when beginning. Later on, you may want to consider purchasing dance shoes. These are specifically designed for dance floors only.

4. When to Dance:

This is very important. Commit to practice with your RoboShow Dancer often. You will never become proficient in dancing, without practice. Practice the steps at least twice a day and you'll be amazed how fast you'll become an accomplished dancer.
